Room For Improvement

It’s funny the effect that sitting and retreats have on people.  Here, for example, are Miranda’s thoughts; she writes:

“This daft ditty is based on the last week of our Lakes retreat, August 2015. To be sung to the tune of Strawberry Fair – in company, with people joining in the chorus, of course!  Please add your own verse if the mood takes you.

Room for Improvement

I’m on my way to StoneWater Zen
Driving, driving, Butterwick and mountain
Who will be there? Uncertain again! Fol-de-dee
I was welcomed in to a gang of ten
When I got up to StoneWater Zen.

Ri-fol, ri-fol, fol-de-riddle-li-do
Ri-fol, ri-fol, fol-de-riddle-dee.

The starter’s gun at the crack of dawn
Sitting, sitting, Butterwick and mountain.
An aching limb and a stifled yawn, fol-de-dee.
Then I walked uphill remembering Ken
The sangha gels at StoneWater Zen.

Ri-fol, ri-fol, fol-de-riddle-li-do
Ri-fol, ri-fol, fol-de-riddle-dee.

We’re chopping veg and we’re painting wood
Working, working, Butterwick and mountain,
She waves her wand and it tastes so good  – fol-de-dee!
It’s more relaxed with fewer men….
But there’s drama aplenty at StoneWater Zen!

Ri-fol, ri-fol, fol-de-riddle-li-do
Ri-fol, ri-fol, fol-de-riddle-dee.

Some internal process works away
Changing, changing, Butterwick and mountain.
Friends and mystery and time to play, fol-de-dee.
Now the days have gone and we’re packed again
But I’ll return to StoneWater Zen.

Ri-fol, ri-fol, fol-de-riddle-li-do
Ri-fol, ri-fol, fol-de-riddle-dee.”
