Ken JonesDear Sangha members, My sad job to let you know Ken Jones died on Sunday 2nd of August. As you know he had been suffering for some time from prostate cancer. He was a dear friend, dharma brother and teacher and I know a respected teacher and friend to many in Stonewater Sangha. We will greatly miss him. I will write more later. I am in the Lakes just now and a retreat starts today. We will have a remembrance ceremony for Ken. For those of you who knew him perhaps you could offer incense at home in thanks for his life and dharma gifts to all of us.
August closureDuring the month-long retreat in the Lakes, there will be no sittings at SWZ Liverpool during August. Our normal schedule resumes on Weds 2 September and the first Zazenkai and beginners class will be on Saturday 12 September. Other users of SWZ Centre are not affected by this and will continue as normal.
HOPE (Street) FOR NEPAL - EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FUNDRAISER
We are a Zen Buddhist organisation in the lineage of Taizan Maezumi Roshi. StoneWater Zen Sangha has a traditional, authentic lineage and has been established in Liverpool for over fifteen years. The Sangha is growing and there are now groups across the UK.
The group is led by Dr David Keizan Scott Sensei and is affiliated to the White Plum Asanga.
We provide the facilities for traditional Zen training throughout the week. See our Liverpool schedule for details.
Every year we have two sesshin at Crosby Hall and regular retreats at our zendo in the Lake District. See our events page for details.
We are a warm and friendly group and beginners are always very welcome.
